The YES initiative is a public-private partnership led by the Presidency to address youth unemployment in South Africa. Through this programme, Eskom is creating valuable work opportunities for young people seeking their first meaningful workplace experience.
About the Eskom YES Programme
The Eskom YES Programme provides a 12-month fixed-term contract for successful candidates to gain hands-on experience in Eskom operations across the country.
This opportunity is ideal for young South Africans who are eager to enter the job market and build their careers within the energy sector.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Aged between 18 and 34 years
- Have Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent and/or a post-matric certificate/programme
- Must not have been permanently employed with a single employer continuously for more than one year
- Must not be studying full-time during the year of employment
- Must not have participated or registered on the YES initiative before
