FAIS Ombud HR Graduate Internship Programme 2026

The FAIS Ombud is offering a structured 12-month Graduate Training Programme designed to help graduates gain practical workplace experience and prepare for entry into the labour market.

The successful candidate will be placed in the Human Resources Department and will receive mentorship while gaining exposure to different HR functions and competency-based training opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Diploma at NQF Level 6 or Degree at NQF Level 7 in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • South African citizenship.
  • Valid South African identity document.
  • Strong academic background.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Interest in public service and the financial sector.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment.
  • Willingness to learn and work additional hours when required.
  • Energetic, self-driven and deadline-focused attitude.

Key Responsibilities

The successful graduate will provide administrative support across Human Resources functions.

Responsibilities will include employee records management, recruitment and selection support, onboarding, HR compliance and governance, training and development administration, payroll support, leave and employee benefits administration.

The graduate will also assist with compiling and maintaining accurate HR reports and data.

Key Competencies

Applicants should demonstrate strong interpersonal and presentation skills, problem-solving ability, conflict management skills and a sound understanding of the Human Resources value chain.

Candidates should also be able to perform consistently under pressure and work effectively as part of a team.
