About the Learnership Programme
The Shipping Learnership: Supply Chain Practitioner is a 12-month programme designed to equip learners with essential logistics and supply chain skills.
During the programme, learners will:
- Gain hands-on experience in shipping and logistics operations
- Learn about cargo handling and supply chain processes
- Develop workplace skills in a real business environment
- Combine classroom-based learning with practical training
Upon successful completion, learners will obtain a:
- National Certificate: Supply Chain Practitioner (NQF Level 5)
Programme Structure
- Duration: 12 months
- Contract: Tripartite agreement between Feltex Automotive, MERSETA, and the learner
- Training includes:
- Theoretical classroom learning
- Practical on-the-job experience
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this learnership, applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or
- Supply Chain Practitioner NQF Level 4 qualification
- Basic computer literacy
Duties and Responsibilities
Learners will be expected to:

- Participate fully in both practical and theoretical learning
