About the Bursary
The Fine Music Radio (FMR) Bursary Trust Awards aim to support talented students pursuing studies in music performance.
The bursary is awarded to students studying towards a Diploma or Degree in Music, with a focus on performance disciplines.

The bursary competition awards students in the following categories:
- African Music (Vocal/Instrumental)
- Classical Vocal
- Classical Instrumental
- Jazz Vocal/Instrumental
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens
- Reside in South Africa
- Be studying towards a Diploma or Degree in Music
- Be registered at a recognised tertiary institution
Bursary Competition Process
- First Round: Submit a pre-recorded audition video (YouTube – unlisted)
- Final Round: Selected candidates perform at Baxter Concert Hall (Cape Town)
- Performances will be recorded and broadcast on Fine Music Radio
- Applicants will be judged on performance, presentation, and musical ability

- Proof of registration at a tertiary institution
- Reference letter from a lecturer or teacher
- Short biography (max 300 words)
