About Gauteng College of Nursing Intake 2027
Gauteng College of Nursing is inviting applications for the Diploma in Nursing Intake 2027.
Applicants who want to study nursing in 2027 may apply to be considered for training at one of the Gauteng College of Nursing campuses.

Successful applicants may study at one of the following campuses:
- Ann Latsky Campus
- Chris Hani Baragwanath Campus
- SG Lourens Campus
- Bonalesedi Campus
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be South African citizens
- Must reside in Gauteng Province
- Must register a profile on the application system before applying
- Must have one of the accepted school leaving certificates
- Must apply online before or on the closing date
- Must meet the required subject criteria
Accepted School Leaving Certificates
Applicants must be in possession of one of the following:
- Senior Certificate
- National Senior Certificate
- Currently in Grade 12
- National Vocational Certificate in Primary Health
Subject Requirements
Applicants must meet the subject requirements based on the qualification they hold.
Senior Certificate Requirements
Applicants with a Senior Certificate must have:
- English HG D or SG C
- Biology HG D or SG C
- Mathematics HG D or SG C
- M score of 17
National Senior Certificate Requirements
Applicants with a National Senior Certificate must have:
- English Level 4
- Life Sciences Level 4
- Mathematics Level 4
OR
- Mathematical Literacy Level 5
- APS of 27 or more
Life Orientation counts half the score.
National Vocational Certificate Requirements
Applicants with a National Vocational Certificate must have:
- 50% in Fundamental Subjects:
- English First Additional Language
- Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
- Life Orientation
- 60% in Vocational Subjects:
- SA Health Care System
- Public Health
- The Human Body and Mind
- Community Oriented Primary Care
Current Grade 12 Learners
Current Grade 12 learners must meet the National Senior Certificate requirements using their Grade 11 final results.

Application Documents Required
Applicants are required to scan and upload one of the following documents:
- Senior Certificate
- National Senior Certificate
- National Certificate Vocational
- Statement of Grade 12 results
- Final Grade 11 results, for current Grade 12 learners
Applicants should note that documents will be uploaded on the system. Shortlisted applicants will be required to take supporting documents to the selection centre.
Selection Process
All shortlisted applicants will undergo a compulsory psychometric assessment.
Applicants who are successful in the psychometric assessment will be required to undergo medical surveillance, including:
- Physical examination
- Verification of all documentation
Completion of all recruitment and selection processes does not guarantee final selection into the programme.
Successful Applicants Will Be Required To
Successful applicants will be required to:
- Sign an agreement with the Gauteng Department of Health
- Attend lectures
- Participate in Work Integrated Learning
- Work shifts where required
- Work on public holidays, weekends and nights in Gauteng Department of Health hospitals and clinics as part of programme requirements
