The Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (DSACR) invites students residing in Gauteng to apply for the 2026 Bursary Programme. The bursary supports undergraduate studies in library, information, and archival sciences at public tertiary institutions in South Africa.

Fields of Study Covered
Bursaries will be awarded for undergraduate studies in:
- Archive and Records Management (Bachelor’s Degree)
- Library and Information Science (Bachelor’s Degree)
Expenses Covered
The bursary covers:
- Tuition fees
- Registration fees
Note: The bursary does NOT cover books, transport, or accommodation costs.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be under 35 years old
- Reside and study in Gauteng
- Be studying or intend to study in one of the approved fields above
- Be registered, provisionally accepted, or intend to register at an accredited public tertiary institution in South Africa (private institutions not funded)
- Not be permanently employed
