Grootbos Foundation Conservation and Research Unit invites unemployed graduates to apply for Internship Programme 2023.

Internship Location: Gansbaai, Western Cape

The Grootbos Foundation is offering a one year internship to assist with the Grootbos
Entomology research programme which promotes the scientific research of insects on
Grootbos Private Nature Reserve and the Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy.

The intern will assist in: Conducting fieldwork, data collection and processing Pinning, curating and databasing collected insects for the Grootbos Foundation entomology collection Engaging with landowners, lodge guests, community groups and children to educate and promote awareness around insect diversity and the key role of insects in our ecosystems

Who is eligible to apply?

We invite applications from graduates with a relevant National Diploma or degree in
Nature Conservation, Zoology or Entomology. Candidates should have a good command
of spoken and written English, have experience in MS Office, and a valid code B driver’s
licence with at least one year driving experience. This internship is only available to
South African citizens.

Duration: 27 February 2023 to 29 February 2024
