The Industrial Development Corporation is offering a 36-month Chartered Accountant Trainee Programme aimed at candidates who want to complete their SAICA articles within the Corporation.

The programme provides structured formal training and practical workplace experience while helping develop future Chartered Accountants and business leaders.

Purpose of the Programme

The programme is designed to provide prospective Chartered Accountants with the opportunity to serve their articles within IDC.

Trainees will receive practical experience and structured training aimed at developing the competencies required in the Chartered Accountancy profession.

The programme also supports the development of future high-level accounting skills in South Africa.

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the SAICA Trainee Programme, applicants must have completed or currently be enrolled in a SAICA-accredited programme that allows entry into the SAICA Initial Assessment of Competence in January 2027.

Eligible qualifications include:

  • Certificate in Theory of Accounting.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting.
  • Honours Degree in Accounting.
  • An equivalent qualification that allows entry into the SAICA Initial Assessment of Competence.

Candidates applying from another training office must already have passed the SAICA Initial Assessment of Competence.

Who Is Not Eligible?

Candidates who are currently completing:

CTA Level 1

or

BCTA โ€“ Bridging Course to CTA

are not eligible to apply.
