Impala Platinum (Implats) is offering a structured Engineering Learnership in Fitting including Machining, designed to develop technical skills and provide workplace training in the mining and refinery environment. This programme is ideal for students who want to build a career as a qualified Fitter Artisan.

The learnership is managed by the Human Resources – Training and Development Department and forms part of the company’s commitment to skills development and transformation in South Africa.


Learnership Programme Overview

The Engineering Learner: Fitting Learnership Programme provides structured training and industry exposure for aspiring mechanical artisans.

  • Certification: Fitter Trade Test Certificate under the Mining Qualification Authority (MQA)

Minimum Requirements

    • Fitter Trade Theory
    • Engineering Drawing

Additional requirements include:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical fitting principles
  • Medical fitness to work at BMR and PMR plants
  • Interest in pursuing a career in mechanical engineering and artisan trades
