INSETA: Bursaries 2024

The Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority (INSETA) invites eligible South African students to submit applications for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2024.

Bursary application closing date is 16 December 2023

The Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority (INSETA) is offering the Insurance Sector Student Fund (ISSF) bursary program for the 2024 academic year. Here are the details:

Program Name: Insurance Sector Student Fund (ISSF)

Bursary Coverage:

  1. Unemployed Students: Covers tuition fees, textbooks, accommodation, meals, technological devices (laptops and data), and a monthly allowance.
  2. Employed Students: Covers tuition fees and a book allowance on a sliding scale.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Nationality: Applicant must be a South African citizen.
  2. Education Status: Currently in Matric (in 2023) or have completed Matric.
  3. Age Criteria:
    • Unemployed and between 18 and 35 years old.
    • Employed (no specific age requirement).
  4. Study: Enrolled or intending to enroll at a recognized South African tertiary institution.
  5. Priority Fields: Preference will be given to courses in the Insurance and related sectors.

Application Details:

  • Application Period: Information regarding application dates and procedures should be available through INSETA’s official website or communication channels.
  • Required Documentation: Applicants need to submit relevant documents, such as academic transcripts, proof of matriculation, identification, proof of unemployment/employment, and details regarding intended study.

Note:

  • Priority Courses: Emphasis is given to courses related to the Insurance sector.
  • Coverage Differences: The coverage differs between unemployed and employed students.

Follow these steps to Apply:

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Matric latest results, if currently in Matric (certified copy – not older than 3 months)
  • Matric certificate, if completed Matric (certified copy)
  • Most recent academic record, if currently studying (on institutions letterhead)
  • Acceptance Letter from institution (on institutions letterhead)
  • Proof of Registration from institution, if applicable (on institutions letterhead)
  • Tuition Fee/ Course Quotation (on institutions letterhead)
  • Completed ISSF POPIA Form (.pdf)
  • Employed applicants:
  1. Completed ISSF Worker Agreement (.pdf)
  2. Completed INSETA Business Information Tool (BI-Tool) (.xlsx)
  3. Letter of Employment
  • Unemployed applicants:
  1. Completed ISSF Learner Agreement (.pdf)
  2. Completed INSETA Business Information Tool (BI-Tool) (.xlsx)
  3. Accommodation Fee/ Course Quotation (on institutions letterhead)
  4. Parents or guardians ID documents/ death certificates/ affidavit if deceased (certified copy)
  5. Parents or guardians 3 months recent payslips/ bank statements (certified copy)
  6. Parents or guardians affidavit and SASSA letter if receiving a grant (certified copy)
