Ivanplats (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for its Artisan Learnerships 2026.
The learnership opportunities are linked to the development of the Ivanplats Platreef project in Limpopo Province near Mokopane.
Ivanplats is developing a world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project using large mechanised underground mining methods and modern mining technology.

The programme will cover technical qualifications relevant to Ivanplats Mine in the following disciplines:
Auto Electrician.
Boilermaker.
Diesel Mechanic.
Fitter and Turner.
Instrumentation.
Mechanical Fitter.
Millwright.
Rigger.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have Grade 12.
Applicants must have passed Mathematics and Physical Science with a minimum mark of 60%.
Applicants must have an N2 qualification in Engineering Studies.
Applicants must be South African citizens or permanent RSA residents.
Applicants must be willing to go through the relevant capability assessment.
Applicants must pass the relevant medical fitness examination.
Duration and Conditions
Successful candidates will be enrolled in the learnership programme for a maximum period of 3 years.
The learnership may end earlier if the candidate obtains the relevant trade qualification before the 3-year period.
Candidates must be prepared to work underground and on surface.
Candidates must be willing to work in mining operations linked to mining-related qualifications.
Candidates must meet the required medical fitness standards.
Preference
Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South Africans from local communities surrounding Ivanplats Platreef Mine.
Preference will also be given to women.
