Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate
- Computer literacy and accuracy
- A recommendation/nomination as an ICCV by a community organisation (not older than 6 months)
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Public spirited and knowledgeable about Batho Pele principles
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Assertiveness and ability to work under pressure
- Driver’s licence is an advantage
- Preference to applicants residing near the correctional centre
Duties
- Daily visits to the correctional centre to engage with inmates and officials regarding complaints and concerns
- Monitor incarceration conditions and report findings
- Record and report instances of deaths, segregation, use of restraints, and use of force
- Assist with JICS inspections and investigations
- Handle administrative tasks, including capturing complaints and writing detailed reports
