KZN Tourism and Film Authority Bursaries 2026

The KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Tourism and Film Authority invites students to apply for the 2026 Bursary Programme.

Fields of Study Covered

The bursary supports students studying in fields directly aligned with the Authority’s mandate, including:

  • Film (Undergraduate)
  • Animation (Undergraduate & Postgraduate)

Students pursuing other qualifications relevant to the growth of the tourism and film industries may also be considered.


Who Can Apply?

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens (preference given to KwaZulu-Natal residents).
  • Be registered or planning to register at a public university or TVET college in 2026.
  • Study full-time in an approved field.
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance.
  • Come from a financially disadvantaged background (proof of household income required).
  • Preference will be given to youth, women, and persons with disabilities.

What the Bursary Covers

The bursary provides comprehensive financial support, which may include:

  • Tuition fees
  • Prescribed study materials
  • Accommodation and meals (if required)
  • A stipend for living expenses

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a complete application pack including:

  • Fully completed bursary application form
  • Certified copy of ID
  • Certified copies of latest academic results
  • Proof of acceptance/admission for 2026
  • Proof of household income or affidavit (if unemployed)
  • Motivational letter detailing career goals and contribution to tourism/film
  • Proof of residence in KwaZulu-Natal
