The Land and Agricultural Development Bank of South Africa (Land Bank), together with the Land Bank Insurance Company (LBIC), invites unemployed graduates to apply for the Actuarial Learnership Programme 2025 / 2026.

This exciting 24-month programme offers structured learning and workplace experience, designed to provide graduates with on-the-job training, mentorship, and exposure to the agricultural financial services sector.


About Land Bank

Established in 1912, the Land Bank is South Africa’s only specialist agricultural bank. Its mission is to support both commercial and emerging farmers by providing tailored financial services such as land financing, equipment loans, production credit, and agri-business solutions.

Programme Purpose

The Actuarial Learnership Programme is aimed at:

  • Equipping graduates with practical work experience.
  • Developing professional and technical skills in actuarial and insurance-related disciplines.
  • Providing mentorship and career growth opportunities.
  • Offering exposure to both workplace duties and training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Learners will be required to:

  • Complete allocated duties professionally under the guidance of a mentor.
  • Develop personal skills in their specialist qualification area.
  • Handle administrative tasks as allocated.
  • Conduct research, compile reports, presentations, memorandums, and other documents.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must hold a tertiary qualification in one of the following fields:

  • Actuarial Sciences
  • Mathematical Statistics
  • Data Science
  • Insurance-related studies

Experience: No prior work experience after completion of studies.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Deadline-driven, with high energy and enthusiasm
  • Strong initiative and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
