The Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is extending an invitation to unemployed graduates to submit applications for the Graduate Internship Programme for the year 2023 / 2024 which offers a total of 135 internship positions.

The Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is offering a two-year placement program for unemployed graduates in the field of Animal and Crop Production. Here are the key details and requirements: Program Duration: 2023/2024 to 2025/2026 Position: Placement of Unemployed Graduates 2023/2024 – 2025/2026 Reference: S4/1 Stipend: R7,250.00 per month Opportunities: 135 positions are available for unemployed graduates with a minimum educational qualification of a three-year Diploma in Agricultural related fields (NQF level 6) in Animal/Crop Production/Plant Production/Horticulture/General Farm Management. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties will be related to farm management, including scouting, disease control, livestock management, record-keeping, packaging of agricultural produce, identifying new markets, and more. Some unskilled labor farm activities may also be involved. Requirements:- Priority will be given to Limpopo-based unemployed graduates with recognized agricultural qualifications and a minimum of a Diploma in Agriculture-related fields.
- Applicants must be entering an internship/developmental program in the government for the first time.
- Unemployed graduates from Colleges of Agriculture and those with Diplomas in Agriculture will be given preference.
- Only South African unemployed graduates with the mentioned qualifications will be considered.
- Targeted beneficiaries should be unemployed graduates with no relevant experience and persons with disabilities. Private studies during the program will not be permitted.
- Applicants must demonstrate an interest and potential to become farmers. Technical assessments will be conducted during selection.
- Successful applicants will be offered a 24-month comprehensive contract for structured on-the-job training within identified farming entities to gain practical work experience and a better understanding of starting an agri-business.
- Identified farming entities will also sign performance agreements with placed graduates.
