Mossel Bay Municipality invites South African unemployed graduates residing within the municipal boundaries to apply for the Local Economic Development Internship Programme 2025 under the Planning and Economic Development Department.
Internship Application Closing Date: 07 November 2025 (no applications received after 13h00 will be accepted)
Internship Location: Mossel Bay, Western Cape, South Africa
Stipend: R9 274,85 per month
Contract Duration: 12 months (renewable up to 3 years in total)
About the Internship
The Mossel Bay Municipality Internship Programme aims to provide unemployed graduates with practical work experience aligned with their field of study. This programme supports local youth employability by developing their skills within the economic development and planning environment of the municipality.
Preference will be given to applicants residing within the Mossel Bay municipal boundaries.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- National Diploma or Degree (minimum NQF Level 6) in one of the following fields:
- Tourism Management
- Marketing
- Local Economic Development
- Business Administration
- Investment Promotion
- Or a related field
- Must possess a valid Code B driver’s licence (manual vehicle).
- Fluent in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages of the Western Cape.
- Computer literate (MS Office applications).
- Must not have been previously employed as an intern in the Public Sector.
- Must be willing to work overtime when required.
Internship Details
- Duration: 12 months contractual appointment, with the possibility of renewal for a further 12 to 24 months (maximum of 3 years).
- Monthly Stipend: R9 274,85
