Mpumalanga DEDT Graduate Internship Programme 2026/2027

The Mpumalanga Department of Economic Development and Tourism is recruiting graduates for its 24-month Graduate Internship Programme.

The programme is intended to provide unemployed graduates with practical workplace experience relevant to their qualifications.

Successful interns will receive a stipend of:

R8,174.75 per month

Opportunities are available at the Department’s Head Office and district offices across Mpumalanga.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be unemployed South African citizens.
  • Have the qualification required for the internship being applied for.
  • Not previously have participated in an internship programme within a National or Provincial Government Department or State Institution.
  • Submit proof of residence issued by the relevant Local Municipality or Traditional Authority.

Failure to disclose previous participation in a government internship programme may result in termination of the internship contract.

Internship Duties

Successful interns will receive structured workplace exposure and training relevant to their field of study and placement area.

Interns will be expected to:

  • Participate in workplace activities.
  • Assist with relevant projects.
  • Participate in capacity-building initiatives.
  • Complete work under the supervision of experienced professionals.
  • Gain practical experience relevant to their qualifications.
