Nongoma Local Municipality, located in the heart of the Zulu Kingdom, invites committed and motivated unemployed youth to apply for Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) work opportunities for the 2025/2026 financial year.
Application Closing Date: 30 June 2025 (Before 12h00)
Location: Nongoma Local Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal
Stipend: R1,300.00 per month
Duration: 12 Months (1 July 2025 – 30 June 2026)
Number of Posts: 95 General Workers (10 designated for persons with disabilities)
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen with a valid SA ID
- Aged between 18 and 35 years
- Must reside in Nongoma Municipality
- Proof of residence from Ward Councillor required
- Must be in good physical health (role includes manual labour)
- Good communication skills
- Must be disciplined and able to follow instructions
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general labour duties
- Participate in waste management and cleaning
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and safe for public use
- Handle tools and cleaning materials responsibly
Targeting & Selection Criteria
- Priority will be given to previously disadvantaged individuals
- 60% of selected candidates should be youth
- 55% should be women
- 2% should be people living with disabilities
