PRDW Bursary Programme 2027
PRDW is offering bursary funding to engineering students who are already progressing through their university studies and require financial support to continue.
The bursary is available for students pursuing selected BSc or BEng Engineering degrees at recognised and accredited South African universities.

Fields of Study
Bursaries will be awarded for studies towards a BSc or BEng degree in:
- Civil Engineering.
- Mechanical Engineering.
- Mechatronics Engineering.
Applicants studying unrelated qualifications should not assume that they qualify.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens or permanent residents in South Africa.
- Be studying full-time towards a BSc or BEng Engineering degree in one of the approved fields.
- Have successfully completed at least their third year of studies.
- Have achieved and maintained a minimum overall academic average of 65%.
- Be studying at a recognised and accredited South African university.
- Be willing and able to complete vacation work with PRDW.
- Reside within a reasonable distance from Cape Town for vacation work purposes.
- Be in financial need and lack sufficient financial means to fund their studies.
Preference will be given, but is not limited to, students from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
Academic Requirement
Applicants must have achieved and maintained an overall academic average of at least:
65%
A full university academic record covering studies from the start of the qualification to the latest available results must be submitted.
Vacation Work Requirement
Applicants must be willing and able to participate in:

Because of this requirement, applicants must reside within a reasonable distance from Cape Town.
