About the Pyrotec Bursary Programme 2026

Pyrotec is inviting applications from eligible students for its 2026 Bursary Programme, aimed at supporting talented students who demonstrate academic potential and a genuine interest in their chosen fields.

Fields of Study Covered

Bursaries are awarded for studies in the following fields (from NQF Level 4 to NQF Level 10):

  • Architecture, Town Planning and Surveying
  • Business, Management and Economics
  • Engineering
  • Finance
  • Health Professionals and related Clinical Services
  • Human Resources
  • Information Technology and Communication
  • Media, Art, Literature, Design, Graphic Design and DTP
  • Natural Science and Social Science Professions
  • Quality and Regulatory Professions
  • Sales, Marketing and related Associate Professions
  • Sports and Fitness

Expenses Covered by the Bursary

The Pyrotec bursary provides full and comprehensive financial support, covering:

  • Registration fees
  • Tuition fees
  • Textbooks (up to R5 000 per annum)
  • Accommodation in a university residence or hostel
  • Transport costs (where applicable)

Payment Structure:

  • Tuition and registration fees are paid directly to the institution
  • Textbook and transport allowances are paid directly to the student
  • Bursary payments are made once per year

Successful applicants will be notified by no later than 27 February 2026. If you do not receive feedback by this date, please consider your application unsuccessful.


Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be an AA/EE candidate
  • Must be studying or intending to study in one of the listed fields
  • Must be registered or accepted at a South African university
  • Must demonstrate a genuine interest in their field of study
  • Preference will be given to first-year students with a minimum overall average of 70%

Failure to meet all requirements will result in the application not being considered.
