Rand Water: Bursaries 2024

Rand Water invites eligible South African students to submit applications for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2024.

Rand Water is offering an exciting opportunity through its External Bursary Programme for the 2024 academic year. The organization, known as the largest bulk water utility in Africa, invites qualified and interested candidates to apply for this bursary.

About Rand Water: Rand Water plays a pivotal role as the largest bulk water utility in Africa, providing potable water to over 16 million people in Gauteng, parts of Mpumalanga, the Free State, and North West. The organization operates across a vast area of 37,000 km2 and has a significant infrastructure, including pumping and purification stations, booster stations, service reservoirs, and a regional pipeline network of approximately 3,500 km.

Minimum Requirements:

  • South African citizenship is a prerequisite.
  • Candidates must be previously disadvantaged individuals (ACI).
  • Applicants should have completed Matric or an equivalent qualification and currently be studying in one of the specified fields.
  • A minimum average of 65% and satisfactory academic performance in the major subject are required.
  • Candidates should not be in possession of other bursaries or funding.
  • Applicants must be under the age of 35.
  • Full-time enrollment at a recognized tertiary educational institution is mandatory.

Bursary Fields Available: A diverse range of fields is covered by the bursary program, including HR, Environmental Health, Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics Metallurgy), Risk Management, Safety Management, Industrial Psychology, Geomatics, Computer Science, Statistics and Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Informatics, Environmental Sciences, Microbiology, Chemistry, and more.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude:

  • Knowledge of Rand Water Mandate and its contribution to the water sector.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Self-motivated and results-driven attitude.
