About the Horticulture Learnership Programme (NQF Level 2)
This learnership combines:
- Practical workplace training
- Theoretical classroom learning
- Skills development in horticulture and plant production
Participants will gain foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in maintaining horticultural sites and plant production areas.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be unemployed
- Not be enrolled in any institution or registered for another learnership
- Not have a completed post-matric qualification
- Be between 18 and 35 years old
- Be a South African citizen with a valid SA ID
- Have Matric (Grade 12) with:
- Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
- Life Science
- Minimum Level 3 in all required subjects

Failure to disclose post-matric qualifications will result in disqualification.

Primary Duties
Successful learners will:
- Assist in operating and maintaining horticultural sites

- Maintain tools, equipment and irrigation systems
- Participate in plant propagation, watering and fertilising
- Attend theoretical classes as part of the programme
- Complete assignments and practical logbooks
- Write assessments to evaluate knowledge gained
