Introduction
The Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) invites motivated and technically inclined individuals to apply for the Millwright Apprenticeship 2026.
This four-year apprenticeship programme provides structured training and hands-on experience in plant maintenance and engineering, contributing to the reliability, safety, and performance of one of South Africa’s leading export terminals.
Your Opportunity
As a Millwright Apprentice, you will contribute to RBCT’s performance goals by ensuring that plant equipment within your area of responsibility remains safe, reliable, and operates according to the required design standards.
You will also play a role in supporting cost-effective continuous improvement initiatives within the plant environment.
What You Will Be Required to Do
Successful candidates will:
- Commit to and successfully complete the 4-year apprenticeship programme as required by the Company and SETA
- Ensure continuous optimisation of plant processes, equipment, and systems
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and legislation
- Develop machine-specific technical competence
- Participate in structured training and workplace learning
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following academic requirements:
- Matric with Mathematics, Physical Science and English, or
- Matric with Technical Mathematics, Technical Science and English, or
- NCV NQF Level 4, or
- N3 qualification
Required Skills
- Strong learning orientation and ability to apply acquired knowledge
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Physically fit and strong
- Good hand-eye coordination
- No fear of heights
