Ridgeway College Graduate Intern Teacher Programme 2027

Ridgeway College is offering three Graduate Intern Teacher positions aimed at helping newly qualified educators bridge the gap between completing their academic qualifications and entering full-time employment.

Successful candidates will work alongside experienced master teachers while developing their classroom management, lesson delivery and assessment skills.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must be fully qualified educators and meet the following requirements:

  • Completed Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree; or
  • General Bachelor’s degree plus a completed Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
  • Valid SACE registration certificate, either provisional or full registration.
  • Clear criminal record with valid SAPS clearance and National Child Protection Register verification.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Strong subject-matter knowledge.
  • Good digital literacy.

Key Responsibilities

Successful Graduate Intern Teachers will assist with a range of academic and extracurricular responsibilities.

These include:

  • Delivering structured subject lessons independently under the guidance of a mentor.
  • Designing, administering and grading formal assessments.
  • Ensuring assessments meet CAPS and IEB requirements.
  • Providing targeted academic support to struggling learners.
  • Leading and managing school sports teams.
  • Assisting with cultural societies and extracurricular activities.
  • Developing classroom management and lesson-delivery skills under the guidance of experienced teachers.

Graduate Intern Teacher Stipend

Successful candidates will receive a stipend of:

R7,500 per month

Ridgeway College will also provide:

On-site communal accommodation
