Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship Programme 2026
The Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship Programme is designed for young South Africans who want to gain practical and theoretical training in diesel mechanics.
Programme Details
- Qualification: Occupational Certificate – Diesel Mechanic
- Duration: 36 months
- Stipend: R3 000 per month
- Number of Opportunities: 28
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizen
- Aged between 18 and 35 years
- Must be unemployed
- Minimum qualification:
- Matric with Mathematics, OR
- N2 / NCV Level 3 or higher with relevant trade theory

ARPL Opportunity (Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning)
The ARPL programme is aimed at experienced artisans who want to be formally recognised and certified in their trade.

Requirements
- South African citizen
- Must be 25 years or older
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the trade
Number of Opportunities
- 20 opportunities for unemployed artisans
- 4 opportunities for employed artisans
