About the Internship
The Rock Engineering Internship is a developmental role where successful candidates will:
- Gain experiential learning in the mining environment.
- Complete a structured 42-month development programme.
- Present key learnings to the Operational Management Team after each phase.
- Undertake a project in the second year of the programme to present upon completion.
- Attend formal courses and seminars as prescribed in the programme.
- Act in the capacity of other roles within the discipline when required.
- Research and propose improvement or value-add projects.
- Engage with technical coaches and mentors for professional growth.
Requirements
Internal Applicants
- Recognition of prior learning will be given to candidates with experience in mining production, geology, or mine planning.
- Advantageous:
- Strata Control Certificate in Coal (in progress or completed).
- Sound references from previous employers or learning institutions.
- Proven completion of relevant academic projects.
- Theoretical knowledge in mining-related studies.
- Valid driver’s license & Certificate of Fitness (or able to obtain one).
- Strong business writing, planning, and organisational skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
External Applicants
- Qualifications:
- BSc Engineering (Mining) OR
- BSc Geology (Hons) OR
- BEng Tech (Hons).
- Sound academic and project experience in field of study.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Self-starter with eagerness to learn.
- Valid driver’s license & Certificate of Fitness (or able to obtain one).
Advantageous (for both internal & external applicants):
- Temporary work experience in the field.
- Knowledge of Seriti’s business principles, values, and operational codes of practice.
