Role Overview
As an HVAC Apprentice, you will work under experienced HVAC specialists, gaining hands-on exposure to:
- Commercial heating and cooling systems
- Ventilation equipment
- Repairs, servicing, and installations
- Preventative maintenance
- On-site project support
This role combines practical work experience with structured training over a 4-year learning programme.
Key Responsibilities
During the apprenticeship, you will be trained to:
1. Follow Health & Safety Requirements
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Use tools and equipment responsibly
2. Assist with Repairs & Maintenance
- Troubleshoot system issues
- Replace HVAC components
- Perform proactive maintenance
3. Support Installations
- Install ducts, blowers, valves, and system components
- Prepare and clean installation areas
4. Maintain Tools & Equipment
- Clean tools
- Conduct basic upkeep
- Ensure work stations are neat and organised
5. Work with Senior Technicians
- Learn best practices
- Observe, assist, and grow technical skills
Minimum Requirements
Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in HVAC or service-related industries
Qualifications
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and/or Science
- N5 Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Nated Qualification
- Valid Driver’s Licence (older than 1 year)
Technical Skills
- Basic mechanical understanding
- Ability to assist with maintenance
- Willingness to learn and grow
Soft Skills
- Attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork

- Strong housekeeping habits
Additional Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be available to start in January 2026
- Be willing to attend training in Paarl for 6 consecutive months over 3 years
- Commit to the full 4-year programme
- Not be currently or previously registered for any learnership/apprenticeship
- Be between 20–30 years old
- Pass the Placement Competency Evaluation
- Attend a panel interview
- Have no criminal record
