South African Civil Aviation Authority: Aeronautical Engineering Bursaries 2024

The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) invites eligible South African students to submit applications for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2024.

About SACAA:

  • Role: SACAA is the civil aviation authority of South Africa, responsible for overseeing civil aviation and investigating aviation accidents and incidents.
  • Headquarters: Ikhaya Lokundiza Building 16 in Waterfall Park, Midrand, near Johannesburg.
  • Status: It is a Schedule 3A public entity under the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
  • Establishment: Formed on 1 October 1998 following the enactment of the South African Civil Aviation Authority Act 40 of 1998.

Criteria Requirements:

  • Eligibility:
    • South African citizenship is required.
    • Applicants should be between the ages of 18 and 35.
  • Academic Qualifications:
    • Level 6 in Pure Maths
    • Level 6 in Physical Science
    • Level 5 in English

  • Successful candidates will be subject to security vetting as per the Civil Aviation Act, 13 of 2009.
  • Employment Equity candidates will receive priority according to the Employment Equity Plan.
  • If no communication is received within 90 days after the closing date, consider the application unsuccessful.
