About the SAPREF Bursary Programme 2026
SAPREF is inviting applications from qualifying students for full-time undergraduate studies in the 2026 academic year.
Fields of Study Covered
Bursaries will be awarded for studies towards the following qualifications:
- Chemical Engineering (BSc Eng)
- Environmental Science (BSc)
- Finance / Logistics / Supply Chain Management / Human Resources Management (BCom)
- Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation Engineering (BSc Eng)
- Mechanical Engineering (BSc Eng)
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following minimum requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must have completed Matric
- Must be studying or intend to study towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the listed fields
- Must be entering 1st or 2nd year of study in 2026
- Must be studying at or accepted to a public university in South Africa
(private institutions are not funded) - Must have a strong academic record
Failure to meet any of the above requirements may result in disqualification.
Selection Process
- Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 3 weeks after the closing date
- If no feedback is received within this period, applicants should consider their application unsuccessful
