South African Veterinary Foundation (SAVF): Bursaries 2024
South African Veterinary Foundation (SAVF) invites South African student to apply for Bursary Programme 2023 / 2024 academic year.
Bursary Application Closing Date: 15 June 2023
Bursaries will be awarded for studies towards a BVSc (Veterinary Science) qualification, at the University of Pretoria.
The SAVF will award 4 bursaries – 2 to 4th year students and 2 to 5th year students, each valued at R10 000.
There will be no service contract or work back obligation on completion of studies.
Requirements
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be studying towards a BVSc degree (Veterinary Science), within the Faculty of Veterinary Science and the University of Pretoria
- You must be in your 4th or 5th year of study
- You must be in need of financial assistance
- You must have achieved a minimum average of result 60% in your examinations
- You must be actively involved in student activities (this can include sport, cultural activities, or any other aspect of student life)
How to apply

The application process includes the following steps:
- Filling in your personal information, including your full name, email address, contact numbers, current year of study, student number
- Attaching the following documentation: your Curriculum Vitae, breakdown of your current student debt, academic record for the last year of study (all attachments must be no larger than 25mb each and can be uploaded in various formats)
- Answering 10 multiple choice questions about the SAVF
