The South African Institution of Civil Engineering, known as SAICE, is inviting students to apply for the SPEBS Bursary Programme.
SPEBS stands for SAICE Patrons Engineering Bursary Scheme.
The bursary is administered by SAICE and was founded in 1992 to provide financial assistance to academically deserving Civil Engineering students.
Bursaries are awarded each semester to students studying towards Civil Engineering qualifications at recognised and accredited tertiary institutions in South Africa.
Fields of Study Covered
The SPEBS Bursary supports students studying towards:
Civil Engineering Degree.
Civil Engineering National Diploma.
The bursary is awarded per semester and is based on academic merit, financial need and availability of funds.
What the Bursary Covers
The SPEBS Bursary is a partial bursary.
The bursary may be awarded to a maximum value of R7 000 per student per semester.
Funding is intended to assist with:
Registration fees.
Tuition fees.
Prescribed books.
Funding will be paid directly to the tertiary institution.
Bursary Renewal
Bursary recipients may be funded until completion of their qualification.
Continued funding will depend on academic performance and availability of funds.

Eligibility Requirements

National Diploma students must have passed their first level, also known as S1, National Diploma examination.
Applicants must be entering S2, S3 or S4.

Applicants must submit clear copies of the following supporting documents with the completed application form:
Certified copy of ID document.
Certified copy of full tertiary academic record, including most recent results.
Certified proof of tertiary registration, required from successful applicants only.
Applicants must ensure that all required documents are submitted. Missing documents may result in disqualification.
