Stellenbosch Municipality has opened applications for 12 Learner Fire Fighter positions within its Fire & Rescue Services Department.

This 12-month programme is designed to give successful candidates practical workplace experience while supporting emergency response and public safety services across the municipality.

About the Learner Fire Fighter Programme

The Stellenbosch Municipality Fire Fighter Learnership Programme gives learners an opportunity to gain real workplace experience in an operational fire department.

Successful applicants will spend 12 months learning from experienced firefighters while participating in municipal emergency services under supervision.

The programme supports candidates who want to build long-term careers in Fire & Rescue Services.

What Learners Will Gain

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful learners will assist with operational activities in accordance with the Fire Brigade Services Act, Act 99 of 1987.

Duties may include responding to fire emergencies.

Learners may participate in emergency rescue operations.

They may render basic medical care.

They may operate firefighting equipment.

They may maintain firefighting vehicles.

They may clean and maintain fire stations.

They may assist with fire prevention education.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have Grade 12 / Matric.

Salary

Successful applicants will receive a salary ranging from R174 899.90 to R227 049.79 per annum.
