Stellenbosch University (SU) has released the full registration schedule for the 2026 academic year, including online registration dates, assisted registration, module amendment periods, and important deadlines for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
All students—new and returning—are encouraged to make use of online registration where possible. Assisted registration will be available at the Coetzenburg Centre for those who require additional support or who cannot register online.
Below is the complete breakdown of the Stellenbosch University Registration Dates for 2026.
General Registration Dates
Online Registration
- 12 January 2026: Online registration opens for senior undergraduate (excluding transferring students) and postgraduate students.
- 22 January 2026: Online registration opens for newcomer first-year students.
On-Campus Assisted Registration
Assisted registration will take place at the Coetzenburg Centre.

Module amendments open for all faculties.
Important Deadlines for 2026
- 5 February 2026: Conclusion of registration for all students (excluding Master’s and Doctoral students).
- 9 February 2026: Start of the academic year.
- 20 February 2026:
- Final day for module and programme amendments.
- Final day for late registration for undergraduate and postgraduate students (including continuing M & D students, excluding newcomer M & D).
Some structured Master’s programmes may have earlier deadlines—confirm with your programme coordinator.
- 26 March 2026: Final registration day for newcomer Master’s and Doctoral students.
Certain structured Master’s programmes may close earlier—always verify with your programme coordinator.
Important Notes for Students
- SU cannot guarantee a space for students who fail to register on time.
- Always consult your faculty yearbook to ensure correct registration.
- Important information about your responsibilities as a student will accompany your proof of registration—review it carefully.
- Students with online registration issues will receive help at the Coetzenburg Centre during the designated times.
- Transferring students must register in person; online registration is not available to them.
- Residences will NOT be open for early occupancy.
Students using online or early assisted registration (26–30 January 2026) must make alternative accommodation arrangements.
