The Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme offers young South Africans an opportunity to gain their first working experience in the retail industry. This 12-month programme is designed to help youth develop practical workplace skills while improving their chances of long-term employment.
Successful candidates will work in an exciting retail environment, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to professional work settings.
About the YES Programme
The YES Programme is a national initiative aimed at reducing youth unemployment in South Africa by providing meaningful workplace experience to young people.
Participants will receive:
- 12 months of workplace experience
- Exposure to retail operations and customer service
- The opportunity to develop professional and personal skills
- Experience that can help improve future employment prospects
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be between 18 and 28 years old
- Matric (Grade 12) is preferred
- Must be available to work on a 12-month fixed-term contract
- Must not have been permanently employed with a single employer for more than 1 year
- Must not be studying full-time during the employment period (April 2026 – March 2027)
- Must not have participated in the YES Programme before
- Must be responsible for their own accommodation and transportation if required
