Thorn Castle is inviting unemployed youth to apply for Welding Apprentice and Electrical Apprentice opportunities for 2026.
Thorn Castle (Pty) Ltd is an electrical engineering, maintenance and training company based in Polokwane, Limpopo. The company specialises in household and industrial electrical repairs, installations and professional apprenticeship training for aspiring electricians and welders.
Available Apprenticeship Opportunities
The following apprenticeship opportunities are available:
1. Welding Apprentice: X4 Posts
Successful applicants will receive practical exposure and training in welding-related work.
2. Electrical Apprentice: X3 Posts
Successful applicants will receive practical exposure and training in electrical-related work.
Total Number of Posts
Thorn Castle is offering a total of 7 apprenticeship posts:
- Welding Apprentice: 4 posts
- Electrical Apprentice: 3 posts
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- N2 qualification
Experience
Appropriate workshop experience will be advantageous, especially in:
- Electrical work
- Welding work
Electrical Competencies, Knowledge and Skills
Applicants interested in Electrical Apprenticeships should have knowledge or interest in:
- Manufacturing
- Wiring different types of electrical panels
- Motor testing and fault finding
- Using power tools and hand tools
Welding Competencies, Knowledge and Skills
Applicants interested in Welding Apprenticeships should have knowledge or interest in:
- Shielded metal arc welding
- Gas metal arc welding
- Welding positions and welded joints
- Using power tools and hand tools
