Transnet WIL Trainee Programme 2026

Transnet is offering a 12-month Work Integrated Learning programme aimed at providing students and recent graduates with practical workplace experience.

The programme is designed to help participants apply their academic knowledge in a real working environment through practical training, mentorship and exposure to industry-related tasks.

What WIL Trainees Will Do

Participants may be required to:

  • Assist with departmental projects and work-stream activities.
  • Perform routine operational tasks under supervision.
  • Support administrative functions.
  • Assist with documentation and reporting.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops.
  • Take part in mentorship programmes.
  • Shadow experienced employees.
  • Interact with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Conduct basic research and data collection.
  • Prepare reports and presentations using Microsoft Office.
  • Follow Transnet policies, procedures and safety regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional standards.
