Traxtion invites South African female students to apply for the TraxWAGON Bursary Programme 2026.

Eligible Provinces: North West, Free State, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, Gauteng

About the TraxWAGON Bursary

The TraxWAGON bursary is a pioneering initiative designed to empower previously disadvantaged female students pursuing careers within the rail, engineering, mechanical, and technical fields.

Its purpose is simple yet powerful:
➡️ Increase diversity and open opportunities for women in the rail and engineering sectors.

Traxtion is committed to building a future where women not only participate but lead and excel in artisan, technical, and engineering careers.

Fields of Study Covered

Bursaries will be awarded for studies in the following fields:

  • Boilermaking
  • Diesel Mechanics
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Fitters and Turners
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Supply Chain and Logistics
  • Warehouse and Inventory Management

These programmes must be completed at a DHET-registered TVET College in South Africa.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the TraxWAGON Bursary, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be female
  • Come from a previously disadvantaged background
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Reside in:
    • North West
    • Free State
    • Mpumalanga
    • Northern Cape
    • Gauteng
  • Be in financial need
  • Be currently in Matric OR have completed Matric
  • Achieve at least 60% average in final Matric results
  • Plan to study full-time at a TVET College in South Africa
  • Be admitted or registered for one of the eligible fields listed above

Supporting Documents Required

Clear, certified copies of the following documents must accompany your online application:

  • South African ID (certified)
  • Matric results or latest school results
  • Latest examination results (if currently enrolled)
  • Proof of registration or acceptance at a TVET College
  • Proof of residential address
  • Recommendation letter from school principal or lecturer
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Applications without all required documents may be disqualified.
