About the Truworths Stores Learnership 2026

The Truworths Stores Learnership Programme is designed to give individuals structured training and practical workplace experience in retail.

The programme will train you to become a cross-trained sales consultant, meaning you will gain experience in multiple store functions, including:

  • Sales floor operations
  • Service desk operations
  • Merchandising and stock control
  • Customer service
  • POS (Point of Sale) systems

What You Will Learn

1. Sales Floor Training

You will learn how to:

  • Approach and assist customers
  • Promote products and specials
  • Keep the store neat and visually appealing
  • Understand fashion trends
  • Deliver excellent customer service

2. Service Desk Training

You will be trained to:

  • Process purchases and returns
  • Handle customer queries
  • Use store systems professionally
  • Maintain calm and professionalism

3. Stock & Merchandising

You will learn:

  • How to display merchandise correctly
  • How to follow store layout guidelines
  • How to reduce stock losses
  • How to apply MBP (Merchandise Best Practice) principles

4. Assessments & Logbooks

This is not just practical work. You will be required to:

  • Complete logbooks
  • Prepare for assessments
  • Be evaluated and declared competent

You must complete at least 120 working hours as part of the programme.
