About the Internship
Under the supervision of the Gender M&E Analyst, the selected intern will support the GBVF Directorate in administration, stakeholder coordination, data management, and event logistics. The internship aligns with UNFPA’s mandate to improve reproductive health and rights, end gender-based violence, and promote sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities
Information and Data Support
- Organize and update the GBVF Information Repository
- Collect reports from partners (civil society, government, research)
- Support data requests and updates
Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain stakeholder database (names, sectors, contributions)
- Assist with database record verification and updates
Meeting and Event Coordination
- Schedule stakeholder meetings
- Prepare agendas, take minutes, and track follow-up actions
- Provide logistical support for events/workshops
Project Tracking
- Research GBVF projects in South Africa
- Attend virtual events and summarize findings
- Monitor and report on internal project progress
Eligibility Requirements
You must meet at least one of the following:
- Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree and completed 1 year
- Enrolled in a postgraduate programme (e.g., Master’s)
- Recently graduated and starting the internship within 1 year of graduation
- Enrolled in a postgraduate professional training programme
Additional Requirements:
- Interest in development work
- Proficient in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to work in multicultural environments
- Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills
- Demonstrated initiative and sound judgment
