The University of Fort Hare (UFH) invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for Postdoctoral Research Fellowship opportunities in various disciplines for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Location: University of Fort Hare, Eastern Cape, South Africa
Duration: 12 months (renewable subject to performance)
Fellowship Value: R300,000 per annum (non-taxable)


1. Postdoctoral Fellowship: Politics and Philosophy (Alice Campus)

Specializations:

  • Identity, citizenship, and conflicts in Africa
  • Nation-state building and regional integration in Africa
  • The politics of indigenization in South African politics

Eligibility:

  • PhD in Political Science, International Relations, or related field (not older than 5 years)
  • Preference: South African citizens, especially women
  • Must relocate to Alice campus
