The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) has released the official registration dates for the 2026 academic year. All students—new, returning, undergraduate, and postgraduate—are required to register within the prescribed periods to secure their place for the year.

Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Registration
- 01 January 2026: WIL registration opens
Students registered for programmes that include Work Integrated Learning must ensure they register as soon as the WIL registration period opens.
Semester 1 Registration Dates (2026)
New Students
- 26 – 30 January 2026
Registration period: 1 week
Newly admitted students must complete their registration during this period to confirm their admission for Semester 1.
Returning Students
- 02 – 06 February 2026
Registration period: 1 week
All returning undergraduate students must register during this period to continue with their studies in 2026.
Advanced Diplomas, Postgraduate Diplomas and Honours Registration
- 02 January – 27 February 2026
Students registered for Advanced Diplomas, Postgraduate Diplomas, and Honours qualifications must complete registration within this extended window.
Master’s and Doctoral Registration Dates
- 02 January – 30 April 2026
- 20 July – 31 July 2026
Master’s and Doctoral students have two registration periods in 2026. Candidates are advised to register early and ensure that all academic and administrative requirements are met.
