Volkswagen Group Africa (VWGA) invites suitably qualified South African students to apply for the VWGA Bursary Programme 2026. The bursary is open to full-time students studying towards approved qualifications at DHET/CHE accredited tertiary institutions in South Africa.

About the VWGA Bursary
The bursary aims to address South Africa’s skills shortage by supporting academically strong youth. Successful candidates will receive comprehensive funding and career support, including:
- Full cover for tuition, registration fees, accommodation, meals, books and stationery
- Vacation work opportunities
- Mentorship and development
- Additional study support if required
- A laptop for study purposes
Work-back obligation: Bursary recipients are required to work back at VWGA for the equivalent number of years funded.
Fields of Study Covered
The VWGA bursary supports the following fields of study:
- Engineering: Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer Engineering
- Marketing: Marketing, BCom Marketing, Digital Marketing, Marketing & Communication
- Science & Technology: Quality, Polymer Technology
- Logistics & Supply Chain: Logistics, Supply Chain Management, BCom Logistics & Transport
- Finance & Business: BCom Finance, Bachelor of Accounting Science, BCom Strategy Development/Management
Note: This bursary is not open to Masters or Doctoral students.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen
- Registered for full-time undergraduate studies in 2026 at an accredited institution
- Academic performance:
- Grade 12 (Matric): Bachelor’s Pass with a minimum average of 70%
- Tertiary students: Minimum average of 65%
- Preference will be given to applicants from designated groups in line with VWGA’s transformation and Employment Equity objectives

Applicants must prepare and submit certified documents (not older than 3 months):

- Certified SA ID copy
- Motivation letter (1–2 pages)
- Certified parent/guardian ID or death certificate
- CV
- Matric Scholars (2025):
- Certified Grade 11 final report
- Certified Grade 12 Term 2 report
- 2026 acceptance letter from an accredited institution
- Tertiary Students:
- Certified matric certificate
- Certified full tertiary academic record (all years)
- June 2025 academic transcripts
- 2025 proof of registration & official fee statement
- Lease agreement if staying off-campus
- Gap Year Students:
- Certified matric certificate
- Certified tertiary transcripts (if applicable)
- Optional (if applicable):
- Proof of other bursary/NSFAS funding
- Disability documentation (EEA1 + doctor’s diagnosis)
