Volvo Diesel Technician Apprenticeship Programme 2026

Volvo Group Southern Africa (Truck and Bus) is offering candidates an opportunity to train towards the:

Occupational Certificate: Diesel Mechanic (NQF Level 4)

Successful candidates will work towards qualifying as Diesel Technicians and obtaining a trade test certificate.

The programme runs over a:

3-year fixed-term employment contract

Minimum Entry Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Have completed Grade 12.
  • Have English First Language or English First Additional Language.
  • Have Mathematics.
  • Have Science.
  • Have passed all required subjects with at least 50%.
  • Be between 18 and 30 years old.
  • Be South African citizens.
  • Have a valid South African ID.
  • Be physically fit.
  • Be willing to undergo an entry medical examination.

Driver’s Licence

A valid:

EC driver’s licence

will be advantageous.

Applicants may have the EC licence with or without a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).

The driver’s licence is listed as an advantage, not as a compulsory requirement.
