Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the WMI Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be a citizen of a developing country (including South Africa)
• Be 35 years or younger by 1 August 2025
• Have completed Matric (secondary school) or be currently in Matric with excellent academic results
• Be applying for or currently pursuing their first undergraduate certificate, diploma, or bachelor’s degree
• Be studying in their home country or another developing country
• Plan to live and work in their home country after graduation
• Have volunteer service experience before applying and commit to community service during studies
• Have partial study funding available but require additional financial assistance
• Maintain above-average academic results throughout university studies
• Be committed to 100 hours of community service per year
• Submit academic semester reports and community service reports twice a year
• Not plan to study in the United States, Canada, Australia, UK, or Western Europe
• Not be a family member of WMI staff or past WMI scholars

Required Supporting Documents

Provide a detailed budget in USD for all expenses.”
