Western TVET College External Invigilator Vacancies 2026

Western TVET College, also known as Westcol TVET College, is recruiting External Invigilators to assist with the administration and supervision of national examinations.

Successful applicants will be responsible for ensuring that examinations are conducted professionally, securely and according to the applicable examination regulations.

The available positions are based at the Krugersdorp West and Randfontein campuses.

External Invigilator Payment Rate

Successful candidates will be paid:

R255.30 per examination session

A typical examination session may last approximately five hours.

The number of sessions offered may depend on the Collegeโ€™s examination timetable and operational requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a Matric or Grade 12 certificate.
  • Have an N6 Certificate, National N Diploma or another relevant qualification.
  • Be unemployed, or be a retired teacher or lecturer.
  • Be medically fit to stand or walk for the duration of an examination session.
  • Be trustworthy and willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
  • Not currently be participating in an internship or learnership.
  • Have no criminal record.
  • Be available to work examination sessions between 07:00 and 18:00 on weekdays.

Preference will be given to graduates of Western TVET College.

Can Retired Teachers and Lecturers Apply?

Yes. Unemployed applicants and retired teachers or lecturers may be considered, provided they meet the remaining requirements.

Applicants must be able to perform the physical and administrative duties associated with invigilating examinations.

Main Responsibilities

External Invigilators will be responsible for supporting the administration and supervision of national examinations.

Duties will include:

  • Supervising examinations at the allocated venue.
  • Remaining present throughout the full examination session.
  • Ensuring that examination rules are followed.
  • Distributing examination question papers and related materials.
  • Collecting examination scripts and materials after each session.
  • Monitoring candidates during examinations.
  • Reporting irregularities or suspected misconduct.
  • Supporting the secure handling of examination material.
  • Completing examination-related administration.
  • Following the instructions of examination officers and College management.

Examination Availability

Successful applicants must be available to work sessions scheduled between:

07:00 and 18:00 on weekdays

A typical session may last approximately five hours.

Applicants must be fully available for the entire allocated examination session and may not leave the venue before completing all required duties.
