About the Waitrose Foundation Southern Africa Bursary 2027
The WFSA Bursary Programme provides educational support to eligible permanent employees, their children and children under their legal guardianship within the Waitrose supply chain.
Applicants must fall within the specified minimum-wage income bracket and be studying or planning to study towards an eligible undergraduate qualification.
Fields of Study
Bursaries will be awarded for undergraduate studies in the following fields:
- Agrisciences;
- Business Sciences, including Commerce, Logistics and Retail;
- Community Health and Social Sciences;
- Education; and
- Medicine and Health Sciences.
Who Can Apply for the WFSA Bursary?
Applicants must fall into at least one of the following categories:
- A permanent employee of a grower in the Waitrose supply chain who falls within the minimum-wage income bracket;
- A child of a permanent employee of a grower in the Waitrose supply chain who falls within the minimum-wage income bracket; or
- A child under the legal guardianship of a permanent employee of a grower in the Waitrose supply chain who falls within the minimum-wage income bracket.
Applicants must also:
- Be studying or intend to study towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the eligible fields; and
- Be studying or have received provisional acceptance to study at a recognised university or TVET college in South Africa, Namibia, Zambia or Zimbabwe.
Documents Required
Applicants may be requested to provide clear copies of the following documents:
- ID document;
- Most recent academic record;
- Proof of tertiary acceptance or provisional acceptance; and
- Proof of employment within the Waitrose supply chain.
The final list of supporting documents required will be communicated by WFSA when the applicant receives the application form.
