About the PwC Graduate Internship Programme
PwC’s Procurement Managed Services team works as an extension of clients’ procurement functions, providing sourcing services within agreed operating procedures and service levels.
As a Procurement Managed Services Graduate Intern, successful candidates will support an outsourced procurement sourcing team that works with client stakeholders and suppliers across various spending categories.
Graduates will gain practical exposure to the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle while developing analytical, commercial, technology and relationship-management skills relevant to a career in procurement.
The position is a full-time Intern/Trainee opportunity based in Johannesburg.
What You Will Do
Successful graduate interns will be expected to support various procurement and sourcing activities, including:
- Supporting sourcing projects from initial requirements through market analysis, supplier engagement, bid evaluation, recommendations and handover.
- Conducting supplier and market research.
- Gathering category intelligence.
- Identifying potential suppliers.
- Supporting supplier pre-qualification and onboarding.
- Preparing and administering requests for information and proposals.
- Preparing sourcing documentation and bidder communications.
- Maintaining project timelines and clarification logs.
- Cleaning and analysing spend, pricing and supplier data.
- Comparing supplier bids.
- Developing evaluation packs.
- Supporting the identification and tracking of savings and other value opportunities.
- Coordinating meetings, actions and approvals with clients, suppliers and internal team members.
- Maintaining sourcing pipelines, trackers, repositories, supplier records and audit trails.
- Preparing and maintaining management reports.
- Supporting negotiation preparation and contracting handovers.
- Assisting with supplier performance activities.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Working according to procurement policies, delegated authorities, confidentiality requirements and service-level standards.
- Supporting the team as a procurement system super user.
- Assisting the project management team with developing and maintaining tracking tools.
