The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) has officially opened its 2026 application cycle. As one of South Africa’s youngest and fastest-growing universities—founded in 2014—UMP offers an exciting opportunity for first-time students and postgraduates alike.
UMP Application Opening & Closing Dates:
- Applications Open: 01 June 2025
- Undergraduate Programmes Close: 30 November 2025
- Honours, Advanced & Postgraduate Diplomas Close: 30 November 2025
- Masters & Doctoral Programmes Close: 30 January 2026
Why You Should Apply Early
Don’t wait for your NSFAS funding or final matric results before submitting your university application. UMP and many other universities use Grade 11 or your most recent Matric results for provisional offers. Waiting too long might cost you a place.
You can still decline the offer later – so there’s no risk in applying now even if you’re unsure.
You should also apply to more than one university to increase your chances. UMP’s growing popularity and limited space mean spots fill quickly.
How to Apply to UMP Online
