Overberg District Municipality invites suitably qualified unemployed graduates to apply for the Disaster Management Internship Programme in the Directorate: Community Services, Department: Emergency Service, based in Bredasdorp. This is a one-year contract appointment to start as soon as possible.

Stipend / Salary: R124,000 per annum (all-inclusive)
Internship Overview
The Disaster Management Intern will assist the Division: Disaster Management with administrative and logistical tasks, including:
- Supporting operational activities
- Compiling disaster management reports
- Liaising with role-players regarding incidents, early warnings, and related matters
- Assisting with training and awareness programmes
- Providing general administrative support
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Disaster Management, Public Administration, Office Administration, or relevant qualification
- Valid Code B driver’s licence
- Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, GIS – minimum requirement to use Google Earth)
- Excellent communication and writing skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
- Physically fit and able to work in inclement weather conditions
