The Ehlanzeni District Municipality, situated in Nelspruit (Mbombela), Mpumalanga Province, is offering an exciting internship opportunity for unemployed graduates in the field of Geographic Information Sciences (GISc).

Internship Details
- Position: GIS Professional Trainee (x1)
- Department: Strategic Services
- Duration: 2-year internship contract
- Remuneration: R120,000 per annum
- Location: Nelspruit (Mbombela), Mpumalanga
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 plus a 3-year Diploma/Degree in Geographic Information Sciences (GISc), Geomatics, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience in ESRI ArcGIS software.
- Computer literacy (MS Office packages).
- Valid driver’s license.
Additional criteria:
- Must be South African citizens.
- Must be between 18 – 35 years old.
- Must be unemployed and have never participated in an internship programme before.
- Must be willing to sign an internship agreement.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be trained and required to assist in:
- Spatial data collection and capturing (field and digitizing).
- Spatial data cleansing and manipulation.
- Map production.
- Spatial analysis.
